Toronto architects interior design LEED residential office space Wong Residence
This private house is situated within the footprint of its predecessor to minimize disturbance of the natural characteristics of the site and to maintain its panoramic views of a forested ravine. The house was conceived of as a folding wall and roof that turns its back to the street and opens up at the rear to provide views of the extensive ravine. Reminiscent to a traditional roof, the sloped slate wall that forms the front facade creates a privacy screen from the street. Behind this slate wall, the house unfolds through various levels towards the ravine below.

Passive systems such as site orientation, passive solar and passive ventilation as well as geothermal, in-floor heating, solar and photovoltaic technologies are used in an effort to reduce energy consumption.
