An interior renovation to a municipal works office space was required. A simple plan consists of a long narrow row of closed rooms on one side and the remaining space is left free and open for work stations and reception.

The row is split by a stair used by workers with heavy boots. The central stair is wrapped in heavy duty checker plate steel. The wall between the row of rooms and the open work space is a long wood and reeded glazed wall providing visual and acoustic privacy.
